U.S. to drop Stevens charges: Former Sen. Ted Stevens | adn.com

This is good news.  Ted Stevens has always been a political hero of mine and has been great for the state of Alaska.  I am so happy to hear that the charges have been dropped.

That being said, I am also ashamed that I fell for what they put him through.  I didn’t vote for him this past election.  His race went down to the wire and he eventually lost.  There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that he would have won the election had there been no charges.  The winner of the election, Senator Mark Begich, wouldn’t have even run against him if not for the trial.

So, that raises the question, “Did someone manipulate the system to get Ted Stevens out of the Senate?” “Were there forces at work to start a silent but effective coup to oust Stevens from office?”

You cannot help but wonder.
